On the morning of May 16, 2021, a forum on CPC centennial celebrations and histories learning including histories of the Party, the People’s Republic of China, the reform and opening up, and the development of socialism,was held in Chongqing University.During this forum, Chongqing University specially invited experts and leaders including Wu Enyuan, former Party Secretary of School of Marxism of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(CASS), MingJu,member of the Standing Committee of CPC Chongqing University Committee andvicepresident of Chongqing University, Hu Xuebin,member of the Standing Committee of CPC Chongqing University Committee,and also director of the Propaganda Department and Teacher Work Department of CPC Chongqing University Committee, Yuan Wenquan,director of Office of Social Sciences of Chongqing University.In addition, more than ten experts and scholars from CASS, Sichuan University, Chongqing University, Southwest University of Finance and Economics, Ningbo University, and Xiangtan University were invited to speak about "CPC Centennial Celebrations And Party History Learning" . Hu Xuebin,member of the Standing Committee of CPC Chongqing University Committee,and also director of the Propaganda Department and Teacher Work Department of CPC Chongqing University Committee,served as the host of the forum.
All experts and leaders attending the forum had an in-depth and extensive discussion on celebrating the centenary of the founding of CPC and learning the histories of the Party, the People’s Republic of China, the reform and opening up, and the development of socialism.Wu Enyuan, former Party Secretary of School of Marxism of CASS, mentioned that to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of CPC,we should hold high the banner of Marxism and strive hard to strengthen ideological guidance for deeper Party history learning.While learning the history of CPC andMarxism, we should also strengthen the research of basic texts,enhance the research at all times in all countries, and also consolidate the construction of the materials related to Party history. In addition, he also put forward valuable suggestions on the discipline development of School of Marxism Studies of Chongqing University. Feng Yanli, deputy director and discipline in spection commission secretary of Institute of Philosophy,CASS, pointed out that while attaching great importance to the study of party history, we should also place a high priority on the development of School of Marxism Studies at universities, which should coordinate the development of discipline construction, personnel training,and scientific research. Subsequently, Tang Xiaoyong,dean of School of Marxism Studies of Southwest University of Finance and Economics, Wang Hongshu, vice dean of School of Marxism Studies of Sichuan University, and LiBaogeng,dean of School of Marxism Studies of Ningbo University, shared the basic information about the activities held for CPC centennial celebrations and histories learning related to the histories of the CPC, the People's Republic of China, the reform and opening-up, and the socialist development,carried out by their colleges and universities, and exchanged views on the discipline construction and personnel training for School of Marxism Studies respectively.Additionally, prof.Zhang Banghui,dean of the School of Marxism Studies of Chongqing University,prof.Long Wei and prof.Zhang Jin from School of Journalism and Communication of Chongqing University,prof.Du Junhua and associate professor Lu Xudong of School of Marxism Studies of Chongqing University and associate professor Qian Feng of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Science of Chongqing University delivered wonderful speeches on the theme of the seminar.
In the end of this forum,Ming Ju,member of the Standing Committee of CPC Chongqing University Committee and vice president of Chongqing University, made the final summary and firmly said that the Party Committee of Chongqing University would resolutely implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and learn in-depth his important remarks on the histories of the Party, the People’s Republic of China, the reform and opening up, and the development of socialism. On behalf of the university, he extended warm welcome to all the participating experts and scholars, and said that Chongqing University would continue to attach importance to promoting the development of School of Marxism Studies, and strengthening its advantages in discipline construction.
