The year 2021 marks the 60th anniversary of the publication of the novel,Red Crag. From December 17 to 19, the seminar of inheriting the Hongyan Spirit and commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the publication of Red Crag was held in Wusheng County, the hometown of one of the authors, Yang Yiyan and sponsored by the CPC Guangan Municipal Committee Propaganda Department and Chongqing Hongyan Alliance Culture Developing Management Center.Prof.Du Junhua of our school was invited to the seminar as the executive director.
Red Crag is a saga novel written by modern writers Luo Guangbin and Yang Yiyan. It describes that the underground revolutionary struggle led by the Communist Party of China(CPC), was wildly suppressed by the Kuomintang authorities in Chongqing under the situation that the People's Liberation Army(PLA) marched into the southwest of China. The novel highly praised the strong will and fearless spirit of CPC revolutionaries.
Prof.Du made a keynote speech in the seminar. First of all, he introduced the specific situation of carrying out the special teaching of Hongyan spirit among the undergraduate and graduate students conducted by the School of Marxism,Chongqing University.Then,He expressed his views on how to improve the effect of carrying forward the Hongyan spirit combined with on-site teaching, revolutionary cultural relics and other ways in the new era.Finally, Professor Du Junhua suggested that researchers on CPC history should intensify efforts to research on the spiritual process of the eastern Sichuan members of CPC in the Hongyan spirit, especially to strengthen the research on the teachers and students of Chongqing University in the Hongyan spirit.
